Our Mission

IMG_5956_edited.jpg

The Emmanuel Baptist Church is a Word-centered ministry existing to evangelize to the lost, to equip and empower God’s people, and to lead them to eternal salvation in Christ Jesus.  We are the holistic ministry for our community.

As Christ loves all people, our purpose is to reach out in love to everyone.  Our goal is to impact the community with a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural ministry, with the focal point being Jesus Christ.

As Christ ministers to the total person, we strive to become an oasis of hope, addressing spiritual, emotional, and physical needs in tangible ways.

Our model for excellence in all things is Christ.  We commit ourselves to the “spirit of excellence.” We seek the highest, the finest, and the best that God has for us.  We strive to honor Him and serve one another in this same spirit of excellence.

Our commitment IS to Christ and our foundation is the Word or God in its entirety.  We believe we can do what the Word says we can do, be who it says we can be, and have what it says we can have.

Our Leadership

Rev. Benjamin F. Davis entered his relationship with Christ at Majority Baptist Church, Queens, New York, where he was saved and baptized. He later moved to South Carolina and became an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where there were some particularly special memories. It was at Emmanuel that Rev. Davis was called to preach, and received his ministerial license. In 1991, the first sermon was delivered entitled “Picked Out To Be Picked On.” That first message was the birth of ministry that focused on studying more about God and sharing the Gospel with those around him. Rev. Davis spent five years attending additional Seminary courses covering topics relating to the life of Christ, and the need for evangelism. The course of studies equipped Rev. Davis to grow closer to God equipping Rev. Davis to deposit his passion with others, including the men and women he met through a Prison Fellowship Ministry. Rev. Davis spent severalyears sharing God’s Word and witnessed time and time again the power of God at work behind prison bars. Rev. Davis has served as Youth Pastor of Living Word Christian Center, as the Associate Pastor at Calvary Chapel of Louisa, Virginia as the Pastor of the Church of Glen Allen, Virginia. Under the leadership of Robert J Perkins, Pastor Elect Benjamin F. Davis received wise counsel, Grace, ‘To God Be The Glory Moments, unconditional unwavering friendship, and AGAPE LOVE. As with God’s appointed time Rev. Benjamin F Davis is humbly honored to be the Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Rev. Davis’ desire is to lead the lost to Christ. To know, serve and worship the Lord and to make Him known. Rev. Davis is an animated Word focused teacher/preacher who loves the Lord and is secure in the Lord’s Love. Rev. Davis has pinned numerous scriptures in his

spirit namely, Jeremiah 29:11; Rom 1:16; John 3:16-17; Eph 2:8; Rom 10:9; Gal 2:20; Jerm. 29:11; Rom 6:23; Rom 8: 28- 39; Phil 3:13; Is 54:17; Prov. 3:5-6; Ps 23. Okay the entire 66 Love Letters are my favorites.

In closing, Rev. Davis would like to share a thought in conjunction with one of his favorite scriptures, in hopes it will transform in you the same hope and confidence that resonates in his spirit; Jeremiah 29:11 reads, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This is one verse that truly resonates with Reverend Benjamin Davis Sr., for as he thinks about the things that he’s been thru and the things God’s accomplished thru and for him during his life and his ministry. Whether he is reflecting on learning from nationally renowned professor Reverend Dr. Alex Capers Sr., graduating as valedictorian of his class at International Seminary, and having his loving wife Quin who’s both his best friend and supportive partner, Rev. Davis sees and knows he is greatly blessed. In addition to all that God has done. God has blessed Rev. Davis even the more to be appreciative parents of three sons, Ben Jr., Ira and Brandon; two daughters Briana and Denee’; two Daughters-In-Love, Marsay and Tasha; one Son-In-Love, Gerrell Thompson, one God-daughter, Ashley; 4 grandsons; KJ, Daishaun, Daron, and Carson and 3 granddaughters; Isabella, Sophia, and Giana. As for Rev. Davis, Jeremiah 29:11 is a constant reminder that, even during challenging times, he can rest assured that God has a plan for his life, both now and in the future and that everything will work together for his good (Rom 8:28).
